Ged
is a guitar vocalist who prides himself on performing a
vast array of songs covering five decades and almost every
musical style. Using highly-authentic backing material,
Ged combines subtle rhythm guitar accompaniment with his
versatile and dynamic vocal range to produce incredibly
accurate reproductions of songs by the likes of Coldplay,
U2, The Beatles, David Gray, The Foo Fighters, Van Morrison,
Queen, James Blunt, Bryan Adams and many, many more.
Having learned the guitar at the age of 8, it was a further
9 years later when Ged formed the high-tech duo "Innerspace"
with a childhood friend. After 2 years of touring pubs and
clubs throughout the UK, the duo became the trio "Wild",
going on to enjoy further success across the circuit.
Following a couple of years "
hiatus",
Ged became a solo vocalist covering material by artists
such as Billy Joel, George Michael, Elton John and Phil
Collins. His choice of material, both modern and retro but
always easy-listening, ensured many warm receptions across
clubland.
After a stint working abroad, as the lead vocalist with
an entertainments team in Rhodes, Ged decided to bring the
guitar into his act. The result was a vastly-increased repertoire,
along with a much meatier sound, and the ability to play
to a wider choice of venues and audiences. His attention
to detail ensures a truly authentic delivery; Howard Copley,
the musical journalist for the Sheffield Mercury newspaper,
is on record as saying "I
thought he WAS Neil Sedaka"
Ged is just as happy performing to a small audience in a
backstreet pub as he is on the stages of the larger club
venues. His warm, relaxed delivery is a feature of all his
performances, and his set-list is guaranteed to take any
audience from a foot-tapping, sing-a-long start to a booty-shaking,
anthem-chanting finale.
