Ric Herrington as 'CASH BACK' brings the legend back to life! Four years after the death of this legendary artist, Ric has noticed more and younger audiences loving the music of Johnny Cash, with an enthusiastic zeal!
Ric is often stopped on the
street, especially if wearing all-black, and told how much he looks like
Johnny Cash. The shock comes when he speaks. He speaks and sings with that
same mid-western American southern-fried baritone that millions of Cash's
fans have come to know and love. "You're going to put Johnny Cash out of
work" was a recent comment from a retired gentleman after a performance.
"You sound more like Johnny Cash than Johnny Cash", was another reaction
from a high school student who was helping out during a charity care home
appearance.
Ric says, "I try to capture the
true heartbeat in the songs. I don't consider myself an impersonator. I
have spent time with the stories behind the songs and try to put that
forward when performing live. Johnny Cash connected with audiences in an
amazing way with that obvious passion for whatever he was singing. It's
truly an honour to be able to pay tribute to this historic performer, and
his family."
"Many of Johnny's die-hard fans
encouraged me to celebrate his life of song," Ric says. "Cash has been
honoured numerous times by the rock music, country music, and rockabilly
communities with accolades and hall of fame awards. His last real 'hit'
song took in six nominations in 2003. That's pretty good for a 71 year old
fellow getting recognized and awarded in the MTV market with younger peers
like Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Coldplay, Eminem, and 50 Cent! "

Equipment
CASH
BACK performs live vocals, guitar and harmonica with authentic backing tracks. Depending upon the venue, we use either a state of the art 200 watt digital sound system or the larger 700 watt system. CASH BACK is visually the Man in Black.
